This Day in Pro Wrestling History...

1999 - Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara, writers for the World Wrestling Federation, jump to WCW shortly after a secret weekend meeting with WCW management in Atlanta, GA.
Neither Russo or Ferrara were under contract with WWF, leaving them free and clear to make the jump. Russo called Vince McMahon to inform him that neither he or Ferrara would be at Raw the next night.
WWF.com posted a brief message stating:
" Effective Sunday, October 3 at 9:45 pm ET, Vince Russo, one of the creative writers, will no longer be with the World Wrestling Federation. Russo abruptly resigned over the phone and will now be working for WCW."
This was seen as a devastating blow to WWF, who were preparing for their Initial Public Offering into the stock      market, although time would show the move was more detrimental to WCW. (One of the biggest blunders WCW ever made!)

  1. This was a great 2 DVD shoot interview.

Ed and Vince Russo - as much as people like to discredit them, were responsible for the very best WWE shows ever.
