Ladies and Gentlemen, the reveal of The Wrestling Media Nation Award Winners for 2013 are just hours away - so why not spend some time watching the top three matches of the year as voted for by YOU, the members of The Wrestling Media Nation?

21 December 2013

MSM: Punk vs Lesnar

WWE.com have named this as the best match in WWE for 2013. It didn't even make our list of nominees for The Wrestling Media Nations Match Of The Year.

You can vote on what should be our Match Of The Year over here, for now though watch tonights Must See Match as The Best  takes on The Beast in the above video!

MSM: Okada vs Tanahashi (Wrestle Kingdom 7)

As you all know, the voting for The Wrestling Media Nation Awards is going on over on the forum - and at the time of posting, THIS is the bout leading the polls for our 2013 Match Of The Year award.

Taking place on January 4th at Wrestle Kingdom 7, New Japans biggest show of the year, this is a main event for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.

The challenger; The G1 Climax 2012 winner, Kazuchika Okada, cashing in the title match he earned from that competition against the man who took the IWGP Heavyweight Championship from him in the first place; the man who jointly holds the record for the number of IWGP Heavyweight Championship reigns with six, and one of the greatest wrestlers of all time; the defending IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Hiroshi Tanahashi!

MSM: Kurt Angle vs Hiroshi Tanahashi

Otherwise known as a "Dream Match".

WWE are extremely insular in the way they present themselves, they will only feature wrestlers that they either raised themselves or have broken into their style through developmental.

Other promotions will happily go outside of their roster in order to promote a match that will draw people to their events. Like New Japan for example. This year they've had bouts featuring NWA and CMLL titles on the line on New Japan shows, they've even allowed their titles to be defended (and in one instance lost) in other promotions.

The match above is the same principle and taken from 2009 when they hadn't yet realized how ridiculous a working relationship with TNA was (hello Okato!)

Tonight, we present to you two of the very best wrestlers of the past fifteen years squaring off for your viewing pleasure. In one corner one of the greatest wrestlers of all time - TNAs own Kurt Angle AND in the other corner, one of the greatest wrestlers of all time - New Japans Hiroshi Tanahashi!

MSM: TLC2

On December 15th WWE are using a TLC match to unify their WWE and World Heavyweight titles.

Allegedly.
However, they're only using a TLC match because the date on the calendar says that it's time to have one. Back in the day TLC matches were built up and meant something... like this one for example.

30 November 2013

MSM: Hogan vs Andre

I got my hands on WWE 2K14 for the first time on Wednesday. Understandably the first thing I did was head into the 30 Years of Wrestlemania mode.

Equally as understandable is the fact that we don't have what WWE state is their biggest attended event represented on Must See Matches yet.

So what better way to do that than the main event itself?

MSM: The First Undisputed Champion

With WWE announcing a Championship Unification Match for TLC (yeah! like that's gonna happen!), what better time to head back and check out how the WWE and World Titles were originally unified?

So, your Must See Match(es) for tonight, from Vengance 2001, this is how Y2J became the first ever Undisputed WWE Champion!

23 November 2013

MSM: The Montreal Screwjob

Survivor Series is tomorrow night so what better time to relive the most memorable and important match in Survivor Series history?

We probably all know this match move for move by now and we all have our theories on whether it was a work or a shoot and whether it was Bret or Vince in the wrong (you can share yours with us here!), but that still doesn't change just how important this match and it's finish are to wrestling history.

So, for your Saturday evening viewing pleasure, from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the main event of the 1997 Survivor Series, Shawn Michaels challenges Bret Hart for the World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Championship!

MSM: 1995 Survivor Series Wild Card Match

When I pitched the idea of turning the Survivor Series into a Lethal Lottery style event on the forum a few days ago, it had completely slipped my mind that WWF had already sort of dabbled with the idea of "odd-bedfellow" Survivor Series teams.
But they have, back at the 1995 Survivor Series. It was only a one off match but I still think its a great concept they could run with.
And here's that match just for you! At Survivor Series 1995 President Gorilla Monsoon put together a "Wild Card" match up. So sit back and watch as Yokozuna, Owen Hart, Dean Douglas and Razor Ramon team up to take on The British Bulldog, Ahmed Johnson, Psycho Sid and The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels!

16 November 2013

MSM: Magnum TA vs Tully Blanchard I Quit Match

This match is widely considered to be one of the greatest NWA cage matches of all time and the rivalry between Magnum TA and Tully Blanchard was featured on WWE's own 25 Greatest Rivalries release... and frankly, it's just about time we featured a top match from the NWA on Must See Matches.

So tonight, for your viewing pleasure, your Must See Match sees Magnum TA challenging for Tully Blanchards NWA United States Championship inside a steel cage... in an I quit match!

13 November 2013

MSM: Eddies Last Match

I wasn't sure whether I wanted to post this or not. Eddie Guerrero is one of my favourite wrestlers of all time and his passing is the only thing in wrestling to have ever brought a tear to my eyes.

Today is the anniversary of his death and this is the last wrestling match he ever took part in.

9 November 2013

MSM: The Montreal Screwjob!

November 9th 1997 and the most infamous finish in pay per view wrestling history. We've covered it all Here in great detail, but we just had take the opportunity to present this to you as a Must See Match.

So, without further ado - the reigning WWF Heavyweight Champion; Bret "The Hitman" Hart defends his title against "The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels from the 1997 Survivor Series!

Enjoy!

We've got a forum thread on this topic here, come on over and give us your thoughts!

6 November 2013

MSM: Survivor Series 87 Multi-Team Tag Match

This past Monday WWE announced their first match for this years Survivor Series - A one on one WWE title match, just like any other pay-per-view.

For tonight's Must See Match we're taking you back to a place in time when the Survivor Series was a unique showpiece event unlike any other show. Specifically, we're headed back to the very first Survivor Series and what is undoubtedly the biggest Survivor Series match of all time.

If you think todays WWE tag-division looks healthy, then just take a look at this!

From 1987, in a Survivor Series elimination tag-match; The team of Strike Force (Tito Santana and Rick Martel), The Young Stallions (Paul Roma and Jim Powers), The Fabulous Rougeaus (Jacques and Raymond), The Killer Bees (Jim Brunzell and Brian Blair), and the British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid) take on the team of  The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart) (with Jimmy Hart), The Islanders (Haku and Tama) (with Bobby Heenan), Demolition (Ax and Smash) (with Mr. Fuji), The Bolsheviks (Nikolai Volkoff and Boris Zhukov) (with Slick), and The New Dream Team (Greg Valentine and Dino Bravo) (with Johnny V.)

Enjoy!

2 November 2013

MSM: Okada vs Tanahashi 6

The Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Kazuchika Okada series of matches has entered legendary status. The two men seem made to wrestle each other and many people now rank their series as the best of all time. That's right, even better than Flair vs Steamboat.

What we have for tonights Must See Match is match #6 between the two (and yet another match of the year candidate). After two wins a piece and one tie from the previous five matches, Okada stated that if he couldn't beat Tanahashi then he would vacate the title, even a draw would not satisfy for him. Tanahashi, for his part said that if he couldn't beat him then he would no longer be able to challenge for the title while Okada was still the champion.

Oh, and of course, the IWGP Heavyweight title on the line.

It really doesn't get bigger than this.
So sit back and enjoy as we offer you one of the best matches you've ever seen!

What are your Must See Matches?
Let us know at this link and we'll feature them on the site and give you a shout out for nominating them!

MSM: WCW Chamber of Horrors Match

Its that time of year when ghouls and ghosts and all manor of horrors come out to haunt the living. So what better way to enjoy Halloween than to watch one of the true horrors of profesional wrestling - The Chamber of Horrors match?!

WCW was renowned for coming up with some stupid interesting gimmick matches in its time and this one is no exception.

The team of Sting, El Gigante, Rick Steiner, and Scott Steiner take on the team of  Big Van Vader, The Diamond Stud, Cactus Jack, and Abdullah the Butcher inside a cage... so far not so silly, right?

To win the match one of the wrestlers must strap a member of the opposition team into an electric chair and flip the switch, electrifying his opponent, presumably to death.

Yeah, now that's the silly right there! Enjoy!

MSM: Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker - Hell in a Cell

WWE are putting on their now annual Hell in a Cell PPV tomorrow night, so we're going to take the opportunity to journey back in time to when the Hell in a Cell match was still an awe-inspiring concept, back when it was a feud ending climax rather than a match that was trotted out because the date on the calander hit a certain number.

In fact, we're going back even further than that.

Tonights Must See Match is the very first Hell in a Cell match. From "In Your House - Bad Blood" waaay back in 1997, The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels takes on The Undertaker for the number one contendership to the World Wrestling Federation Championship.

19 October 2013

MSM: The Brain Busters vs The Rockers

The Rockers are considered as one of the greatest tag-teams in WWF history. The team of Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson are considered as one of the greatest tag-teams in history, period!

Tonights Must See Match sees these two legendary units of tag-team wrestling square off in the mecca of WWF - Madison Square Garden!

16 October 2013

MSM: IYH Canadian Stampede Main Event

WWF In Your House: Canadian Stampede is widely regarded as one of the promotions best PPVs of all time.

Tonights match up is the main event from that very show: From Calgary Alberta Canada, Goldust, Ken Shamrock, The Legion of Doom and Stone Cold Steve Austin team up to take on Bryan Pillman, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog, Owen Hart and Bret "The Hitman" Hart - The Hart Foundation!!!

MSM: Eddie Guerrero vs Brock Lesnar

It would have been Eddie Guerreros birthday this past Wednesday, so my choice for tonights Must See Match was obvious.

From 2004, Eddie Guerrero challenges Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship.
