Friday 5: Top 5 Old School Entrance Themes

The Friday 5 is a personal list I used to do on the old site. I'd pretty much given up on the idea of it BUT, having just set up a very special Christmas Countdown deal for Pro Wrestling Planet, I thought this particular F5 would be worth repeating.

Hopefully some have you have seen it before (if not, what the hell was I doing in the first place?!) but I also think that a fair few of you won't have...

So, my list of The Top 5 old school wrestling themes of all time (and if you think I'm wrong, tell me about it over here !

5. The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers
They may not have been the "All American Boys" they claimed to be but with their tiny flag waving antics and this cheesy synth pop entrance, the Rougeaus certainly stick the in the memory. Jacques almost made the list twice thanks to the theme tune of his later WWF incarnation, The Mountie.

4. Ted Dibiase
If there is one thing the 80s is remembered for above all else it's gigantic mobile phones. If there's something else the 80s is remembered for then it's the being the era of greed and over-indulgence - Exactly what Ted Dibiases character was all about and the lyrics to this theme fit the era perfectly. Of course the reason it makes the list is because it's just an awesome, memorable tune!

3. The Four Horsemen
Whenever Arn Anderson needs entrance music, this is the theme WWE role out - it's the classic Horsemen theme from WCW and it's slow beat and slick guitar riffs fits the Horsemen image perfectly. They almost did it with Evolution but side-stepped the name at the last minute and with the Nature Boy on his last legs WWE need to bring in Ric Flair as a manager and put together a new Four Horsemen using this theme now!

2. Demolition
HERE COMES THE AXE AND HERE COMES THE SMASHER - THE DEMOLITION, WALKING DISASTER!

1. Hulk Hogan
Without a single shadow of a doubt, THIS is THE most recognisable, most memorable and most iconic wrestling tune of all time! Even now, in an era where the likes of Motorhead lend their hand to wrestling themes and where Hulk Hogan is a shambling mockery of his former self, nothing has ever come close to emulating just how this music can make ANY wrestling fan feel. Enjoy!
