The Greatest Wrestling Theme Of All Time!

So here we are on Christmas Day -  and what's more important than spending time with your loved ones and spreading Chrismas Cheer?

That's right! Finding out what hit the number one spot in our Greatest Wrestling Themes Of All Time Christmas Countdown!

It's been a long road and frankly, some of my personal favourites didn't make the cut! So, before you take a look at our number one pick, head on over and check out the two most prominent themes that, in my opinion at least, should be hovering around in the top 10 rankings. There's One Here and theres another One Here.

Taken a look at those bad boys? Good then lets unveil THE Greatest Wrestling Theme Tune Of All Time!

Fittingly enough, it belongs to the man many believe is the greatest wrestler of all time too...

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair!

Woooooo! Need I say more? Flair's theme is different because it was a well-known tune before he took it. Still, to this day, I can't hear this without immediately thinking of Flair. When you can take a popular-ish song and do that, you've officially made it your own. This theme is immortal, just like the man it accompanies. - Wryder

While the tune is popular, it wasn't a classical or popular hit, when you think of it 90 percent of people think of Flair. - Knucks

Christmas Countdown #3: Hulk Hogan

When Degeneration X was announced at number four in this countdown yesterday, I asked whether an entrance theme could define an era.

Today I'm flat out telling you that THIS theme WAS wrestlings first boom period. You all know it, if you were around in Hogans heyday you WILL mark out a little when you listen to it and, if you disagree with either of those two statements, well, you're just lying.

Christmas Countdown#4: DegenerationX

Are You Ready?
If it's possible for an entrance theme to define a time in history, then surely this would be the one to define the WWFs Attitude era?

It's not just the song either, it's that entrance video. Defining everything that this group of degenerates were about before they'd even got to the ring. Genius!

Christmas Countdown #5: Edge

We are in our top five - and what a way to start it off! Edges Metalingus theme may be the best wrestling theme of the modern "we get real bands to play our entrances" era. It fits the criteria of letting you know who's coming out from the first bar and it's unmistakable....

"On This Day, I See Clearly...."

Christmas Countdown #6: The Four Horsemen

If you don't recognize that this is one of the top two or three stables of all time, you're a cock. If you don't recognize that this theme fit these guys to a T, you're also a cock. There are few entrance themes I remember from my childhood more than this one. Yeah, I'm a little young to remember the glory days of the Horsemen, but I remember how much I marked out at 10 years old or so when Anderson, Flair, Benoit and Mongo...yes, even Mongo...would come down the ring holding up those four fingers with this song playing. Gets me all excited just thinking about it. - Wryder

Christmas Countdown #7: Dolph Ziggler

Sure, WWE might currently be in the process with burying him - as they are want to do with any and all wrestlers the fans want to cheer for, but that doesn't mean that this theme is anything less than great!

Christmas Countdown #8: The Undertaker (Original)

With certain wrestlers hanging around far longer than others and, as a result, having more variations on their entrance themes, it was only a matter of time until we had a repeat entry in our countdown.

We managed to get all the way down to number eight before it happened and, luckily for us, both of the Undertakers entries are cast iron classics and both are incredibly spooky!

Christmas Countdown #9: Chris Benoit

I've long been a fan of Our Lady Peace, so when I found out they were doing a theme song for one of my favorite wrestlers, I was pretty stoked. Imagine my surprise when the song actually turned out to be pretty damn good. They sort of sampled his original theme, flipped it on its head and made it better. Not many mainstream bands would take a flier on something like this, but these guys did. And killed it. No pun intended. GREAT theme. It's a shame that OLP don't play it at concerts anymore since Benoit killed his family. Even without the Benoit connection, it's a damn good song. - Wryder

Christmas Countdown #10: Gangrel

OK guys and gals, we've officially entered our top ten countdown of THE best wrestling themes tunes of all time as decided by YOU, the members of The Wrestling Forum!

Tonights theme is that of an attitude era character that was both awesome and perhaps a little out of its time. I'm talking of course about the vampire that rose up inside a ring of fire and drank blood from a goblet on his way to the ring, Gangrel!

Christmas Countdown #11: Randy Orton

I'm not a Randy Orton fan. Granted, his wrestling has improved over the years but he still has all the charisma of this keyboard I'm typing on and he sounds like a robot in his promos.

That said, his theme tune IS good...

14 December 2013

Christmas Countdown #12: The Million Dollar Man

I think we're getting to the point now where we don't really need to say anything about these tunes. We're at Legendary status with this one, and rightfully so.

I rated this as my fourth favourite wrestling theme of all time in my personal list.

13 December 2013

Christmas Countdown #13: The Undertaker

Specifically his "Ministry" theme.

Honestly, I think this is the best version of the Undertakers theme there's ever been, it feels darker, moodier and its just darker than any of the others.

It's also #13 on our list.. ooooh, spooky!

12 December 2013

Christmas Countdown #14: AJ Styles

The thing I love about AJ's theme is that it gets the crowd pumped from the second it hits, and that is what a good entrance theme should do. People have said they added it to their list because of the song being linked to AJ basically being awesome, but I think this is one of those themes that does its job so well. Probably the best TNA produced theme theme. - LFCGorsty

11 December 2013

Christmas Countdown #15: CM Punk

CM Punk is awesome. This is fact. What's a little more blurry is whether Cult of Personality is better than his theme by Killswitch Engage.

Whichever your preference head on over here to listen to THAT Chicago pop when his music hits one more time!

9 December 2013

Christmas Countdown #17: Randy Savage

Many don't know that Gorgeous George came out to this too and was just as charismatic as the other man coming out to it in Savage. Gorgeous George will be one of my names I root for when it's time for our HOF class of 2013!! - Knucks

8 December 2013

Christmas Countdown #18: The New World Order

Is this theme cool because of the NWO, or did they become cooler because of this theme? Who knows?

7 December 2013

Christmas Countdown: #19: The Ultimate Warrior

Before Warrior decided to take his character (and himself) way to seriously, the future "alternative" to Hogan had a pretty good theme song that I remember had me running wall to wall in my room and shaking my pretend ropes . . . - Knucks

6 December 2013

Christmas Countdown #20: Goldust

Admit it. You love Goldust no matter what the character is like. And when you hear those chimes and all that other crazy shit in the beginning combined with the gold lights, you mark out just a tiny bit. Don't feel bad though. You're not alone.  - Wryder
