On this Day in Pro Wrestling History

1992 - The Rock N' Roll Express defeat The Heavenly Bodies (Stan Lane & Tom Pritchard) to win the Smoky Mountain Wrestling Tag Team Title in Welch, West Virginia. This ended the third reign for Lane & Pritchard, and started the second title run for Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson.



In 2005, WWE Survivor Series was also held in Detroit, Michigan
– Booker T defeats Chris Benoit in the first match of a Best of 7 Series for the vacant WWE United States Title
– Trish Stratus defeats Melina to retain the WWE Womens Title
– Triple H defeats Ric Flair in a Last Man Standing Match
– John Cena defeats Kurt Angle with Daivari as special guest referee to retain the WWE Title
– Theodore Long defeats Eric Bischoff
– Team Smackdown (Batista, Rey Mysterio, JBL, Bobby Lashley & Randy Orton) defeat Team Raw (Shawn Michaels, Kane, The Big Show, Carlito & Chris Masters) in a Survivor Series Match with Orton as the lone survivor. Eddie Guerrero was supposed to be in this match, but sadly died two weeks before, so Orton took his place
