1. Hulk Hogan
Just the title of this category raised a few questions; what makes a great champion? The number of reigns? The length of a title reign? The quality of opponents? Do you need to have held a promotions World title to have been a great champion or does, for example, Mr Perfects Intercontinental Championship reign qualify?
In the end everybody came up with their own answers - in analysis of this list it certainly seems that Hogans run as the WWF champion just as that promotion was breaking boundries and making inroads into popular culture played a large part in his high finish, because both in sheer numbers of reigns and the quality of opposition faced, Ric Flair would certainly have topped Hogan. Sammartino finishes in third, quite probably for the length of his title reigns.
It's interesting to see Steve Austin up in fourth spot, he's above the likes of Kurt Angle, Randy Savage and the (modern day) record setting CM Punk. Maybe wrestlings popularity in the real world does have something to do with it...
Anyway, here's the rest of the list, just like before if you have anything to say on the matter let us know in this forum thread!
