On this Day in Pro Wrestling History


2001 - ECW held its next-to-last event, a house show at the Black River Coliseum in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. The results:
- Michael Shane defeated Oz.
- The Prodigy defeated Phoenix.
- Joey Matthews and Christian York defeated The Full Blooded Italians (Little Guido and Tony Mamaluke).
- Jack Victory defeated C.W. Anderson in a Street Fight.
- Yoshihiro Tajiri defeated Super Crazy.
- ECW World Tag Team Champions Danny Doring and Nova (subbing for Roadkill) defeated Hot Commodity (Julio Dinero and EZ Money), when Nova pinned Dinero, to retain the title.
- Tommy Dreamer pinned Justin Credible.
- ECW World Heavyweight and World Television Champion Rhino pinned The Sandman to retain the Heavyweight title.

2001 - Don Brodie defeats champion Terry Knight and Ricky Murdock in a three-way match in Greenville, Mississippi, to win the NWA National Heavyweight Title, beginning his second reign. He would vacate the title in August after a car accident.

2001 - Danny Rose defeats The Bad Butcher for the Hardway Wrestling Hardcore Title in Northhampton, Pennsylvania.

2001 - Robbie Ellis defeats champion Jonathan, Amanda Storm, Derik Destiny, The Portuguese Stallion and Johnny Nash in an elimination match, to win the South Coast Championship Wrestling Lightweight Title in Fall River, Massachusetts.
