WWE & World Title Unification Match Announced For TLC

After yesterdays speculation about WWE unifying their top two titles at Wrestlemania, it seems we were about four months off.

Last night on Raw it was announced that John Cena (World Heavyweight Champion) will face Randy Orton (WWE Heavyweight Champion) with both titles on the line in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match at the TLC pay-per-view on December 15th.

As Knucks said on the forum, unifying the titles is a good thing, but doing so at Wrestlemania causes a problem with Royal Rumble stipulation (the winner of the Rumble gets a title shot at Mania, for those that haven't been paying attention) so if they were to unify the titles, doing so before the Royal Rumble match is a necessity.

That said, given the shitty way WWE have booked their main event finishes recently, rumours have already started circulating that, given that both title's will be hanging above the ring, what we'll actually see at TLC is both men grabbing the alternate belt to the one they're entering the match with and a title switch rather than a title unification.

We'll see....
