ROH Announces AJ Styles Next Two Opponents

Upon his return to a Ring of Honor ring, the promotion have announced that AJ Styles next opponents will be Jay Lethal at their 12th Anniversary weekend (Feb 21st) and "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin at the following nights TV tapings (Feb 22nd).

In a very interesting story from Lords of Pain, it looks like AJ Styles may actually be leaving TNA. I've posted their report below and, as ever with this type of gossip, nobody seems to know what is actually happening. Still, the saying goes that there's no smoke without fire and there are a lot of news-sites saying exactly what LOP have here.

In my opinion AJ Styles is the one name people most associate with TNA wrestling BUT, he's now in his mid-thirties and, however much smarks like me enjoy his work, there can be no doubt that he's never been a major draw for the majority of the casual wrestling fans.

An Evening With AJ Styles Autobiography Update

AJ Styles will take part in a European tour in March. "An Evening With AJ Styles" is scheduled for March 6-11 in England and Scotland. At this time, each show will include a meet and greet and Q&A with the fans.

The release of Styles' autobiography "Phenomenal" has been pushed back to the first quarter of 2014. Styles' representative Bill Behrens had the following to say about the delay…

"The book was originally slated for an earlier release but was delayed so changes could be made in various chapters including the one dedicated to TNA" 

AJ Styles To Defend In The UK?

Preston City Wrestling Champion, Adrian "Lionheart" McCallum, posted the above image to his Facebook page.

Styles and McCallum have been teasing that Styles will defend the TNA title in PCW - one of the UKs most prominent promotions and PCW promoter, Steve Fludder, has said that the door is open for the match to happen.

AJ Styles succesfully defended his TNA Title against Seiya Sanada at Saturday’s Wrestle-1 show in Tokyo, Japan.

The show took place despite a magnitude 4.7 earthquake hitting close to Tokyo. Other TNA names on the show included Rob Terry and Jay Bradley as they teamed together.

This was the second of the two promotions TNA were rumored to be teaming with for the current storyline involving AJ Styles (the other being Mexicos Triple A promotion).

During the Summer of Punk II CM Punk “left” WWE as champion and a new champion was crowned in his absence. That set up a champion versus champion unification match. The entire thing was horribly rushed (Punk was gone less than a month) but the objective was achieved: Punk gained another win over John Cena and became not only the company’s undisputed champ but its number two star.

For the past 12 months, Impact Wrestling’s favorite son, AJ Styles, has fought and clawed his way back to the top. After enduring major professional and personal setbacks, “The Phenomenal One” took some time away from the spotlight and came back with a renewed killer instinct; now, this Sunday at the Bound for Glory event, he will seek to become Word Champion once more by toppling Bully Ray.


Given the challenges he’s faced, it’s not entirely surprising that Styles came to empathize with Marvel’s ruthless vigilante, Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, at times during his trials. Blake Garris, of Marvel.com, spoke with him about this connection, his plans for BFG and even his accent.
